The owners and managers of Foundation Logistics & our sister companies throughout the world recognize the need to observe and develop policies that promote and protect the environment that we all live in. It is important, not only for our generation, but for generations to come. It is our goal to minimize our effect on pollution in our world and reduce our corporate carbon footprint. We maintain a recycling policy to re-purpose materials used daily in our offices around the globe. It may seem like a small gesture, but if every person and every company around the world would purpose to do this on a daily basis, the positive effects and impact on our environment would be tremendous.
Foundation Logistics & Services will comply with all legislation and official codes of practice in line with official directives from The Environmental Protection Agency in the United States and all international agencies to ensure that we are compliant and co-operative globally.
To achieve this initiative, we will hold training sessions for our employees, set examples, and publish written guidelines to control, minimize, or eliminate pollutants generated by our daily operations wherever and whenever possible.
We will initiate and emphasize the minimal use of utilities in our facilities by installing water saving plumbing fixtures, lighting switches that turn lights off in areas not actively occupied by employees. We will only run essential lighting fixtures during off hours for security purposes, and we will run air conditioning and heating at comfort levels only when employees are present.
We will monitor our contractors to ensure that anyone that we do business with is doing their part to maintain vehicles to reduce emissions, vapors, and noise to a minimum. All spent light bulbs and batteries will be disposed of, or recycled in a manner that is in compliant with all local and national laws and regulations. Plastics, paper products, including cardboard and other packaging will be recycled according to written and outlined methods to avoid the overuse of landfills which produce pollutants of their own. Our offices and facilities will be cleaned using only the products friendliest to our environment.
We will monitor and review our policies for compliance by our employees and contractors that may be present in our facilities from time to time. Our policies are prominently displayed in all of our facilities for review by our employees and management at all times.
The UN Global Compact and all 10 principals outlined in the international document dealing with human rights, labor laws and employment practices, human rights, the environment, and anti-corruption practices will be strictly upheld at Foundation Logistics and all of our subsidiaries without default. • Foundation Logistics will support and respect the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights within our sphere of influence and control • Ensure that we are not complicit in human rights abuses • We will never participate in forced or compulsory labor in any form • Never will we participate or support child labor. • We will not tolerate discrimination in respect of employment and occupation • Foundation Logistics will support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges • We will sponsor initiatives to promote environmental responsibility • We will encourage the development and dissemination of environmentally friendly technologies wherever and whenever possible • We will never participate in, or tolerate any form of corruption, including but not limited to, extortion and bribery
